Through the compilation of 1,000 telephonic surveys a day 675,000 across a random sample of adult citizens, the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index represents the largest and most comprehensive measure of health and well-being data available today from the nation's social, emotional and physical health and work perspective.

From the findings, we know that health isn't always an isolated phenomenon. It can be affected by work environment and other factors and, conversely, health can have an impact on work productivity and performance. Studying the correlation between these areas over the next 25 years is important because it provides a deeper level of understanding that we believe will influence change to improve well-being across the nation.
